I applied yesterday. Let's see what happens. There are some shows that I can't seem to find on other torrent sites, so I'm hopeful.

here's the deal. jerome's place is a member's only site and has some very paticular guidelines when it comes to trading/downloading shows. i'm not sure if they've changed things, but as far as i know, you need to be thrown an invite by a member in order to join. i read something in the FAQ that sounded as if you could apply for membership, but i'm not sure. a good friend invited me. there are pro's & con's to this. the Jerome's Place members are a very respectful group and obey the set guidelines, because not abiding means loss of membership. this is also why it is very hard to obtain a membership; by inviting another user, you are vouching for them and can lose your membership if they break the rules. but the loss of availability on Archive isn't the end of the world. if you can't find an invite, try these sites:
www.btetree.org
www.thetradersden.org
or lossless legs @ www.shnflac.net (the 10,000 member limit has been reached on this one, but inactive members are being deleted daily so keep trying)
all of these sites are torrent sites, and the downloading is a bit trickier. you'll need to download and install a "torrent client" in order to DL shows. either azureus or ABC work great and are free and very small programs. you can find these on the torrent sites in the links.
i hope i was able to help a little. please show the respect and support that these very generous sites and people ask of you. BE GRATEFUL..

I gave a donation to Jerome's Place and sent an email inquiry about membership. After waiting for days for any kind of reply, I finally got a short thank you, but nothing about access. I now can't even get a follow-up response. And these guys call themselves Dead-heads?

So I am to believe from your post that you "donated" to the site and then inquired about membership? Sounds to me more like you tried to "buy" a membership. Good for them that they didn't let you on, although I don't think the two are related. My guess is that it is more likely that a spot hasn't opened up yet; and as a Dead Head, buying your way in doesn't work.

Sadly, it appears Jerome's place has ended.

:-(
